Baton Rouge, Louisiana(22 Oct 2020)

The Louisiana Film Channel showcases Louisiana films and filmmakers. Launching Thanksgiving Day, the new streaming service presents feature films, series, short films, music videos and documentaries, most with Louisiana flair.

LFC is entering the streaming market dominated by Netflix, Hulu and other giants. Available worldwide, the streaming service provides a launching pad for talented directors, screenwriters, actors and crew. LFC is based in culturally rich Louisiana, home to New Orleans, Mardi Gras, jazz, Cajun music, delectable Cajun and Creole cuisine and hundreds of festivals statewide that celebrate the region's joie de vivre.

“We designed the Louisiana Film Channel to promote Louisiana filmmakers,” said LFC president Dr. Lucas Fry. “We want to give them an outlet, so that they can be seen and heard. I hope someone in Hollywood or beyond watches their films and says: ‘I’m going to invest in them. They’ve got talent.’ ”

LFC features subscription, transactional and premium video on demand as well as free content. Continuously acquiring programming, the platform will offer new content each week. Feature films make up 20 percent of the programming.

“People say, ‘There aren’t enough movies for us to do this in Louisiana,” Fry said. “I say, ‘You’d be surprised by how many movies there are.’ Our inventory of several thousand films will entertain viewers for a couple of years. We’ve got enough new content because none of this stuff has been seen before.”

LFC’s business plan also calls for the production of original movies and series exclusive to the platform. “We’re already accepting scripts from agents and plan to offer a direct submission system in 2021,” Fry said.

The Louisiana Film Channel is available on most devices, including MACs and PCs, Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Apple TV and Android and Apple phones and tablets.

LFC is accepting all films, series, documentaries and music videos. Those created by Louisiana filmmakers or connected to the state will receive first billing and promotion at?LouisianaFilmChannel.com.?Interested filmmakers may also email LFC at?info@louisianafilmchannel.com.
