Univision Now App Launches on Roku

NEW YORK(10 May 2017)

Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America, launched a new way for consumers to access Univision NOW, Univision’s premier direct-to-consumer offering and Hispanic America’s only Spanish-language live streaming and on-demand subscription service. The Univision NOW service is now available to consumers on the Roku platform. Roku pioneered streaming for the TV.

Univision NOW provides consumers with direct access to their favorite programming 24/7 whenever and wherever they want it. The streaming service offers exclusive original content, an expansive Video on Demand (VOD) library, including 2,000 hours of content, live broadcasts of the Univision and UniMás networks, and 72-hour DVR functionality. With Univision NOW on Roku devices, fans will have even more ways to access live content and the full VOD library they love.

“Our audiences expect a great digital experience from the brand they love,” said Eric Ratchman, EVP of Content Distribution, UCI. “That’s why we are excited to launch our expanded Univision NOW content on the Roku platform, one of the simplest ways to stream entertainment.”

“Univision is one of the premiere destinations for Spanish language programming serving Hispanic America," said Ed Lee, VP of Content Acquisition, Roku. "Now, through the Univision NOW channel on the Roku platform, their amazing selection of content will be available to millions of Roku users and we're extremely excited to have partnered with them on this endeavor."

Univision NOW is available to users for either a monthly $5.99 or annual $49.99 subscription fee. Additionally, Univision allows consumers who have participating pay TV provider credentials, through TV Everywhere, access to Univision NOW – a first among TV broadcast networks to promote the value of pay TV subscriptions by granting those subscribers easy access to all their TV Everywhere content in the same app. By creating a one-stop destination for fans, Univision is ensuring easy access to Hispanic America’s beloved personalities and favorite programming, while delivering on its mission to inform, entertain and empower one of the fastest growing demographics in the U.S.

The Univision NOW experience continues to be available on iOS, Apple TV, Android, and via UnivisionNow.com on mobile and desktop.
