Concurrent Announces Video Transcoding Solution
Advanced software transcoder supports live and on-demand workflows
DULUTH, Ga.(26 May 2016)
Concurrent (CCUR), a global provider of content delivery, high-performance Linux and storage solutions, today announced a new software-based video transcoding solution for live and on-demand workflows. Concurrent's new UpShift Transcoder is pre-integrated with Concurrent's unified content delivery network (CDN) solution, enabling customers to process, capture, and stream video in support of a wide range of multi-screen video applications.
"Introducing video transcoding is a natural evolution of our multi-screen strategy," said James Brickmeier, CMO and GM of Content Delivery Solutions for Concurrent. "Our customers are interested in flexible software solutions that can support traditional live and file-based video processing tasks, as well as just-in-time transcoding requirements for advanced applications like cloud digital video recording."
Concurrent's UpShift Transcoder is completely software-driven, making it less costly to deploy, highly scalable, and fully upgradable to serve customers' changing business needs. It supports the multitude of streaming video formats required to deliver live streams, video-on-demand content, and time-shifted video services to Internet connected devices as well as classic set-top boxes.
