AVer Information Inc. USA Joins SRT Alliance for High Quality, Low Latency Video Streaming Over the Internet

AVer PTZ310 and PTZ330 Models Support SRT Connectivity

Fremont, CA(23 Sep 2020)

AVer Information Inc. USA, the award-winning provider of video collaboration solutions and education technology solutions, today announced the company has joined the SRT Alliance, the open-source initiative dedicated to overcoming the challenges of low-latency video streaming.

As the whole world must adapt to remote collaboration strategies, video streaming is expected to account for 82% of all Internet traffic in 2020. As part of AVer’s overall strategy to deliver the best video experiences to its customers, the company will continually support innovation in its hardware, software and partner streaming technologies. Joining the SRT Alliance provides AVer customers with another option to address latency and security issues when streaming their video.

The SRT Alliance, founded by Haivision in April 2017, already has more than 400 members. Its mission is to overcome the challenges of low-latency live streaming by supporting the collaborative development of SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) Open Source, the fastest growing open source streaming project. SRT is a free open source video transport protocol and technology stack originally developed and pioneered by Haivision that enables the delivery of high-quality and secure, low-latency video across the public internet.

“AVer is proud to join the SRT Alliance to help champion an open-source video transport protocol that addresses the main challenge our clients face when it comes to providing high performance, low-latency streaming in a secure and reliable way across the public Internet,” said Andy Teoh, Director of Product Management, AVer Information Inc., Americas.

“With the SRT Alliance, AVer is joining an industry movement to improve the way the world streams video,” said Jesús (Suso) Carrillo, Director, SRT Alliance. “We’re pleased to see the SRT protocol being actively implemented by some of the world’s biggest broadcast and enterprise streaming workflows as its adoption and industry-wide recognition continues to grow, becoming the defacto standard for low latency internet streaming. AVer Pro AV cameras will provide SRT enthusiasts with fantastic options to securely stream their content.”
