The Ivy Plus Libraries Confederation – a partnership between thirteen leading academic research libraries in the US – has launched the Eastern Europe and Former Soviet Union Web Archive.
The Confederation’s web collection programme is a collaborative collection development effort to build curated, thematic collections of freely available, but at-risk, web content in order to support research at participating Libraries and beyond.
The new archive has been created to identify, capture and preserve material that may be of value to contemporary and future researchers. The scope is broad and includes websites published by political parties, non-governmental organizations and activist groups, artists and cultural collectives.
