London Transport Museum joins Google Arts & Culture

The London Transport Museum explores 200 years of transport history, art and design.

Google Arts & Culture brings together collections from almost 2000 museums around the world.  The latest addition offers highlights of London Transport Museum’s collection featuring over 500 artefacts and artworks including many objects not on permanent public display.

London Transport Museum cares for one of the most important collections of graphic art in the world. In 2013 a major temporary exhibition titled ‘Poster Art 150’ showcased the 150 greatest Underground posters from this collection. These will now be accessible via Google Arts & Culture.

London Transport Museum will continue to add new objects and digital exhibitions to the platform, including objects summarising the history of moquette seating patterns; the role of women in transport and the evolution of the iconic ‘roundel’ logo.
