London Library launches podcast

The London Library is the largest independent lending library in the world.

The London Library, the brainchild of Thomas Carlyle, dates back to 1841. The Library holds over a million volumes in three broad subject areas: History; Cultural expression; Thought and life.

The Library has now launched a podcast series. Each month a leading writer or cultural figure will discuss the books that have shaped them. In conversation with the Library’s director, they will delve into the Library’s archives and collections to uncover treasured books and nuggets of historical detail about the guest’s book choices.

The first episode features social historian Hallie Rubenhold. Her best-selling book, The Five, explores the lives of Jack the Ripper’s victims.
