Google: new human test

Simplified process to replace complicated captcha.

Google has developed a simple checkbox test to weed out bots.

The aim is to simplify current Captcha procedures which involve keying in distorted words and/or numbers.  The new process will enable users to simply click a box stating "I am not a robot".

Google claims that it can use many clues to identify humans – including how a mouse is moved before it is clicked as well as IP addresses and cookies.  The majority of users will pass this test first time but for those that don’t a secondary, traditional Capture window will appear.   The new captcha process for mobile users will involve image recognition tasks.
