ScaleOut Software Releases Enhanced Version of its Platform

ScaleOut Software, a provider of in-memory computing software, is releasing version 5.5 of its in-memory data grid (IMDG) and in-memory computing platform, adding several new features that will boost capabilities for .NET developers.

“This release represents a breakthrough in our ongoing work to make in-memory computing more accessible to .NET developers,” said Dr. William Bain, CEO and founder of ScaleOut Software. “By combining the speed and scalability of distributed, memory-based storage with an integrated compute engine, we are giving the Microsoft developer community a competitive edge while leveraging familiar computing patterns.”

A new feature called Distributed ForEach, introduces a new API that transparently extends data-parallel computing across ScaleOut’s IMDG to handle much larger workloads than otherwise possible.

Developers familiar with the Parallel.ForEach operator in .NET can now enable this data-parallel computing pattern to handle very large workloads without the need to learn new coding techniques.

Other features includecomprehensive PowerShell management cmdlets, asynchronous API methods, ISO 19770-2 software tagging (SWID) on Windows, and distributed push-based notifications.

Version 5.5 includes features introduced across ScaleOut Software’s portfolio of IMDG and in-memory computing products, such as ScaleOut StateServer, ScaleOut ComputeServer, ScaleOut hServer and ScaleOut GeoServer.
